Henri SANNIER,

Sports journalist for France Télévision

It's with great pleasure and a sense of pride that we welcome the return of the Ronde Picarde. Our friends at CLSO were keen to revive this unique event in the Hauts de France region, and we'd like to thank them warmly.

For over 30 years, the Ronde Picarde has showcased Picardie maritime, the Bay of the Somme and the charm of the region's endearing hinterland. Over the years, the peloton has grown in size, with amateurs rubbing shoulders with pros and former pros in a friendly, sporting atmosphere.

The start and finish are in Eaucourt sur Somme, a village I've had the honor of administering for nearly 50 years. In the space of 30 years, we have welcomed many champions and personalities (Hinault, Poulidor, Roche, Thevenet, Prost, Belmondo...). The organizers have promised to expand the cast with champions from Belgium and elsewhere.

See you on September 28 and 29 in a sporty and welcoming region.
